Our client is a successful Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company specialising in pharmaceutical products. We are looking for an Afternoon Shift Supervisor to work on afternoon shift.
Reporting to the Production Manager; you will be required to monitor and coordinate the work for the Production personnel and to ensure all relevant Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost targets are met. This role will ideally suit someone that enjoys new problems and challenges and isn’t afraid to approach these with an open mind. You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of Production-related activities within the factory such as:
Quality
- Ensure Operators are trained and competent (adhere to GMP requirements/written instructions (including SOPs))
- Ensure a safe and hygienic work environment
- Ensure in-process inspections and testings
- Ensure data in reports and batch records are timely, accurate and legible.
- Reporting deviations/non-conformances
Manufacturing
- Manage the Manufacturing Operators on a day to day basis and oversee all processes, whilst giving direction to staff at all times to ensure that they are compliant with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) conditions, familiar with the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for their processes and to ensure OH&S procedures are followed for the safety of all employees.
- Ensure that all batches are manufactured efficiently and effectively
- Liaise with Planning, Production & QC Departments to ensure batch priories are met.
- Liaise with the manufacturing Operators to ensure completion of all paperwork
Production (Filling and Packing)
- Organize and coordinate daily operation of the team members to ensure production schedule is achieved and production targets are met.
- Coordinate change over activities to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure equipment are calibrated and maintained as per schedule.
- Ensure that the samples for retention or testing are collected as specified in the Batch records (filling sheet), SOPs or any other relevant documents.
- Equipment in optimum working condition
- Perform Production activities.
Continual Improvement
- Participate in the department’s initiatives in continual improvement activities
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Min tertiary education in a science or engineering background or not less than 5 years’ experience as a team leader in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Preferably with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in either the Pharmaceutical or food industry, with semi-automated manufacturing, packaging and filling processes.
- Excellent teamwork skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
