Highly regarded national import/manufacturing company located in the Northern Suburbs requires an individual to fill our purchasing / logistics officer role.
This role is a crucial link between all other areas of the business and must provide clear & concise communication, ensuring all deadlines are met & all stakeholders remain informed at all times.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Placing purchase orders for local raw material
- Placing purchase orders for import stock & raw material
- Track & expedite orders placed with international and local suppliers
- Monitor & coordinate shipping, local transport & de-hiring of containers
- Code all invoices related to stock purchases to ensure accurate stock costing
- Oversee direct container import orders, inclusive of customer documentation requirements and or online document lodgement
- Manage the transfer of raw material & or stock between interstate facilities
- Receipt & allocation of all goods inwards
- Liaise with suppliers, customs brokers, shipping lines & transport providers
- Liaise with production, warehouse & administration staff
- Review contracted services & present for approval
- Manage exports inclusive of any compliance requirement
Key requirements for the position:
- Prior experience in a similar purchasing role
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work load
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Previous Pronto experience would be highly regarded
- A strong work ethic and team spirit
- Excellent communication & rapport building skills
- High attention to detail
