ABOUT US
BJ Howes Metaland is a family owned distributor of steel & building products, industrial gases, welding gear and industrial supplies to the retail, DIY, trade & industrial markets, servicing the Central Coast & Hunter regions.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The chosen candidate will be responsible for the safe & accurate delivery of steel products across the Central Coast & Hunter region.
Daily duties of the successful applicant will include:
- Unloading & loading of steel truck, utilizing forklift
- Delivery of steel products, at times using truck crane
- Dispatch & receiving of steel product orders
- Processing of customer steel orders using machinery such as oxy cutting equipment, cropper & band saws.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
The below skills and attributes will be essential in carrying out this roll:
- A medium rigid or higher grade truck licence
- A forklift licence
- Previous experience driving and delivering using a medium rigid or higher grade truck would be an advantage
- Experience using a truck crane would be an advantage
- A good driving record
- Previous experience working with steel would be an advantage
- High levels of verbal and written communication competencies
- Customer service experience
- The ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic computer skills
