The Deputy Head of Aircraft Maintenance reports to the Head of Aircraft Maintenance and will manage the day to day performance of Line, Base and Aeronautical Product maintenance personnel. Ideally based in Adelaide however this may be negotiable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold Safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a Zero Harm and an incident / injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position.
  • Actively support and promote the Company’s Safety Management System (as described in the Group Safety and Quality Manual) by ensuring employees comply with the Safety Management System processes and procedures, by the provision of appropriate direction and resources and by monitoring safety activities and performance.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Produce financial and operational outcomes in accordance with budget, published plans and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain a level of organisational efficiency and performance that delivers continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staff management welfare and developmental practices are in place to underpin business performance and provide a rewarding career for staff.
  • Achieve optimal contract performance and maintain excellent client and stakeholder relations.
  • Attend and participate in other forums and activities as directed by the Head of Aircraft Maintenance.

Key Person Criteria:

  • Have a minimum of five years high capacity airline experience.
  • At least three years of management experience
  • Ideally hold the Advanced Diploma in Aviation Management.
  • Recognised engineering or aerospace engineering qualifications or licences.
  • Strong analytical and operational business skills.
  • Outstanding work ethic and attitude with preparedness to work hours as required to meet the needs of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Able to establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with staff, key industry partners, external stakeholders.
  • Preparedness to undertake external training and development in business process improvement.
  • Ability to work in and lead multi-disciplined teams
