An opportunity now exists for an experienced Warehouse Assistant to join us and make a difference, as we seek to grow our business and continue to provide an unrivalled level of customer service. This position is on a full-time employment basis subject to satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
Working within a fast paced warehouse and despatch environment you will need to be organised and possess the ability to respond to changing priorities. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor you will part of a medium sized team and responsible for the timely and accurate processing of customer orders.
Your customer service focus will be essential in this role as will be the ability to work closely with our sales and purchasing teams.
The Role
- picking and packing of customer orders;
- booking of freight for customer orders;
- loading and unloading of delivery vehicles;
- stock replenishment and organisation;
- receipting of goods inwards;
- handling 'over the counter' customer orders and enquiries;
- forklift operation;
- maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse;
- liaison with other departments.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:-
- previous experience of a warehousing role;
- demonstrated experience of inventory control systems and processes;
- experience of dealing with customers 'over the counter';
- good computer and numerical skills;
- a focus on delivering customer service excellence;
- ability to communicate effectively with other departments to achieve business goals;
- strong focus on teamwork but can also work autonomously;
- ensuring adherence to workplace health and safety policies and procedures;
- attention to detail;
- current forklift licence - ESSENTIAL;
- current full driving licence.
Experience of a similar role within the fire protection or plumbing industries would be an advantage.
