The Role:

The Inventory Controller will be responsible for the day to day running of the Warehouse Operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Inventory Controller will actively oversee the safe and effective utilisation of staff and resources through a highly visible shop floor presence, while ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to budget. This is a permanent full time role.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Release pick orders (hourly)
  • Overseeing receiving, warehouse operations and distribution including booking trucks, couriers and coordinating all returns (TPC & RGA)
  • Ensuring health and safety processes are being followed in the warehouse and loading bays
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
  • Run daily cycle count program and complete reconciliation process and daily distribution co-ordination and prioritising duties
  • Responsible for daily Distribution co-ordination and priorities are met by aiming to ensure that the highest payoff activities are catered for at all times.
  • Completion of in process work inspections with provision of operator feedback, to ensure accuracy and quality of internal and external customer orders.
  • Optimise local and interstate transport to achieve best possible cost reductions, and ensure that all loads comply with statutory regulations for loading and restraint.
  • Manage stock control in conjunction with operations controller and reconcile with the data storage system

The successful applicant will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience with operational aspects of business such as delivery lead time, OH&S, Profit and Loss, Distribution, Inventory Control, RF scanning
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practise
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Experience controlling inventory in/out and ensuring proper distribution centre inventory levels.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Strong MS office, Word and Excel
  • Good commercial/business acumen
  • Exposure to profit and loss (P&L)
