Our client currently have an exciting role available within their large distribution centre in Jandakot. Manpower are looking for experienced team leaders to lead and encourage a team of 3 -5 employees in an Assistant Section leader position.
This position will place you in the warehouse and logistics division - also known as the engine room of the business. To be successful as an Assistant Section Leader you will have extensive previous pick packing and logistics experience along with the proven ability to lead a team of 3 - 5 employees all while developing and maintaining an atmosphere of professionalism and ownership.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage the sections resources effectively, and monitor staff training, development and performance.
- Encourage, train, motivate and develop the section staff to reach their full potential.
- Assist with the induction and training of new staff and further development and training of existing staff.
- Maintain a vigilant approach to internal and external theft prevention.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Undertake stocktaking duties, as directed by the logistics manager.
- Receive goods in as per the goods - in procedures and quality assurance policies.
- Ensure accuracy when picking store orders.
- Direct and assist with the loading and/or unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Ensure all controls, policies, procedures and guidelines are followed.

- Have previous leadership experience within a warehousing/logistics environment.
- Be able to demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Have a thorough understanding of warehousing/logistics processes.
- Be a team player who leads by example.
- Have the ability to apply high attention to detail across all of your tasks.
- Have a focus on safety at all times.
- Have the ability to work towards challenging deadlines.
- Be able to multi-task and balance different priorities.
