Reporting to the Site Manager, the Health, Safety, Security & Environment Manager will work closely with the ANZ HSSE team, site leadership team, manufacturing managers, and production teams to lead, coach, and drive the safety culture across the site and to deliver a ‘Zero Harm’ mindset. The position is responsible for ensuring the implementation, maintenance, administering and directing all HSSE activities on site are undertaken and in line with company policy, standards and statutory requirements. The position also leads the HSSE Pillar and is responsible for leading and coaching all HSSE IL6S work processes at the Site.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

• Lead and coach the site HSSE team, site operations and functional teams to provide and deliver agreed health, safety, security & environmental plans in line with ANZ HSSE strategy and objectives
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and continuous improvement in maintenance of HSSE systems
• Identify training needs and where required, organise and deliver training, provide on the job coaching to ensure all staff understand current policies and procedures.
• Monitor, analyse and report on key HSSE performance indicators to measure effectiveness of plans
• Coordinate and drive group activities to identify root causes and implement corrective actions arising from HSSE incidents and near misses
• Implement procedures and manage issues relating to injury management, rehabilitation and workers compensation practises
• Lead HSSE Pillar for the Site 
• Lead and coach IL6S HSSE work processes to build capability of the core team in HSSE
• Negotiation with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver the site position on EHS matters
• Facilitate the action plans that reduce environmental impact of the site and wider environment
• Facilitate action plans relating to security and Food Defence

Do you have what it takes?

• Degree qualified in an applicable Science or Engineering discipline 
• Specific qualifications in Health & Safety
• Significant experience in industry in the development and implementation of SEMS/IMS 
• At least 5 years of experience in HSSE roles 
• Experience and understanding of Safety and Security in manufacturing
• Thorough knowledge of relevant EHS legislation
• Demonstrated Change Management experience
