About the role:
Train Services are the thriving hub of our business that keep the railway moving. In this role, you will report directly to the General Manager Train Services, supervising operational functions and ensuring the provision of a quality, safe, on-time service that keeps Melbournians moving. This will include:

  • Driving and leading our people through this exciting time of change, growth and improvement in the rail industry
  • A passion to spearhead our performance goal of A safe, on-time and comfortable journey for all passengers
  • Commitment to a long term career within Metro’s Train Services leadership team
  • Proven experience in managing a team of Driver Managers who strive to create a culture of continuous improvement within their teams.
  • Ability to engage and manage effective working relationships with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders in matters involving employee relations, safety, strategy delivery and execution, network planning, budgets, and audits.
  • Enthusiasm to work closely with your peers in training, coaching, planning, business improvement and compliance
  • Valuing the importance of teamwork and listening, challenging your peers and making a difference
About your experience:
First and fore mostly, you need to care about people and the railway. Safety, to you, is second to none. You bring extensive experience within a large and complex people management and industrial relations environment and confidently demonstrate success managing, leading, mentoring and developing a team. You’ve experienced fast paced, reactive environments and you thrive on a challenge. You have a consultative approach, but your determination to get the job done is what really sets you aside. We are looking for someone who wants to build the best in their team, enabling a high performing and engaged workforce.
