Our Supply Chain team is currently seeking an experienced Material Flow Manager for a company based in Southern Brisbane.
Client Details
Our client is a large manufacturing company based on the Southern Suburbs of Brisbane. An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced and suitably qualified Material Flow Manager.
Description
Communicate internal and external logistic requirements to relevant stakeholders including Global and local logistic functions
- Coordinate parts set up with relevant functions, including but not limited to:
- Supplier and lead-time parameters
- Lot sizes
- Minimum balances
- Coordinate new supplier set up, including but not limited to:
- Supplier introduction
- Transportation flow
- EDI implementation
- Promote and implement VPS principles
- Actively participate in the rollout of Logistics 7 steps within focus improvement areas
- Prepare new internal flow set up in accordance with Material Guidelines.
- Support internal Material Handling organization with Logistic Engineering Work in all areas of manning, balance, material façade, routing, etc.
- Continuously monitor and act on compliance to or any need of changes in present logistic, set up due to changes (e.g. volumes)
- Follow up local and globally agreed, or other relevant KPI’s
- Participate in continuous improvement work in the daily work.
- Participate in local / regional / global networks to contribute to the process development
- Update design changes to trolley kits in alignment with incoming parts or station changes
- Support the implementation of any new logistics IT systems
- Support the planning and setup of any new logistics physical working environments at the site
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and in general take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees and the environment
Profile

- Strategic mindset and ability to visualise improved working processes
- Results focused and demonstrable ability to deliver outcomes
- Excellent knowledge of inventory management systems
- Excellent knowledge of Kanban management systems
- Excellent knowledge of Material Requirements Planning methods
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Experience implementing process improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated health, safety and environmental focus
- Strong knowledge of Project Management Principles
- Sound knowledge of VPS Principles related to material flow
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Advanced computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong team focus
- Ability to meet tight project deadlines
