About the opportunity

Step up to the next phase of your procurement career with GBS ANZ! The Procurement specialist is responsible for the end to end sourcing for procurement activity under $1M. This involves going out to market for RFx activity, and reviewing and negotiating contracts on behalf of BP and GBS ANZ. You will be part of a small and close knit team of procurement specialists sitting in the ANZ Procurement Services team and working with the strategic Procurement function at BP, you will learn from your peers and be actively involved in establishing best practice initiatives within the procurement function.

Key accountabilities:

• Executing sourcing activities across a variety of different market sectors within the BP business with a key focus on Retail Assets including Capital Projects
• Actively reviewing contract expiry reports and agreeing the course of action with the BP Category Manager or Category Specialist.
• Designing and implementing with supplier the appropriate processes to enable compliance buying, reconciliation and buying protocols in line with broader strategy
• Driving change and compliance through the business across P2p processes, by encouraging the increased use of Purchase Orders (PO’s) and / or approved buying channels under BP supplier agreements.
• Complete sourcing negotiations for the business, preparing and executing contracts, variations and extensions.

About you

To be successful in the Procurement Specialist role, you will have experience in strategic sourcing experience within a large organisation.

Other key attributes of the role include:

• Experience in working with 3rd parties and sourcing in a process driven environment
• Experience in working within a matrix operated organisation
• Strong stakeholder management experience
• Previous category management experience and the ability to undertake commercial analytics
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders in order to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes, deal with ambiguity, navigate complexity and drive impactful outcomes
• Self-motivated, with a desire to continually improve and learn
• Professional qualification in Supply Chain / Logistics or other relevant qualification preferred
• SAP system experience
