Located 30kms north of Goondiwindi, this company has rapidly become a thriving business servicing the local region and beyond and has been operating in the area for 16 years. They specialise in the logistics of grain handling, grain cleaning / drying, storing, marketing and trading.
Position
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Logistics Manager will be in charge of managing and coordinating all transportation services to ensure sustainability and client satisfaction, strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services and work collaboratively with all team members to ensure the success of their division and the company as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, optimise and coordinate the full order cycle
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints
- Meet costs, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
- Ensure delivery of requested products in a timely and efficient manner
- Manage driver’s delivery schedules, maintenance records and required permits
- Develop and maintain relationships with growers, suppliers and subcontractors
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Skills and Experience
- Leadership skills relevant to a despatch / logistics / transport environment
- Ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organisation
- High level of organisational skills
- Ability to delegate responsibilities to existing staff
- Able to adapt quickly to any changes or challenges that arise throughout the group
- Be able to multitask and have flexibility to change timetables quickly
Qualifications
- Qualifications in logistics, storage, distribution or a transport related field would be highly regarded
