About the Role
Provide management oversight and coordination of operations in the following critical functions:
- Quarry management and quality;
- Fleet workshops management;
- Stores and facilities management (inclusive of warehousing and logistical management of all material);
- Administrative services; and
- Operational analysis and reporting.
- Ensure fleet, stores, facilities, quarry and administrative operations are delivered in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to enhance the operational effectiveness of key customers;
- Maintain professional relationships with all customers and work to meet service level requirements, deadlines, and agreed expectations;
- Initiate and support regional improvement strategies to continuously improve operations and cost reductions under your control;
- Provide detailed analysis on performance and forecasts on all functions and operations in the areas of responsibility and liaise regularly with the Planning and Scheduling group to provide feedback into the Work Plans and schedules; and
- Develop and oversee quality processes and systems for the Operations business unit to ensure efficiency and productivity is achieved.
About you
To be successful you will demonstrate significant experience in a similar position or possess extensive operations and leadership experience. You will also possess the following skills and experience:
- Post Graduate Business studies and / or trade qualifications with post trade competencies in a related discipline (fleet, quarry management, facilities etc.);
- Demonstrated strategic management experience leading high-risk complex functions;
- Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives and building a high-performance culture whilst fostering a cohesive team approach with an emphasis on safety at work;
- Proven success in solid decision making to ensure government, business, customer and resource requirements are balanced to meet the responsibilities and accountabilities of the management role;
- Establish and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders across the region to achieve desired outcomes and to ensure Council is aware of contemporary trends in service delivery, quality and technology; and
- Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
