The Mine Site Construction Services Profile:

  • We specialise in Mining, Civil Engineering, Earthmoving and Quarrying Services.
  • We Operate throughout Australia with extensive operational and geographic experience.
  • We have successfully completed regional and remote contracts from Commonwealth, State and Local Government, Institutional Land Developers and Major Resource companies in the Mining Industry.

The role

Based at our Welshpool premises reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will provide purchasing support to our workshop, admin and operational sites.  We are seeking expressions of interest for a proactive, experienced Purchasing Officer, ideally with mining / civil construction background. 

Your core responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Day to day purchasing of parts for Perth and other work sites.
  • Identify and recommend procurement options and strategies to minimise cost.
  • Receiving and Dispatching freight as required, including fuel and oil monitoring.
  • Perusal of warranty claims, returns for credits and supplier dispute resolutions.
  • Despatch of parts to sites on a day-to-day, or as required basis including road and air freight.
  • Direct liaisons with Perth Workshop personnel, and operational sites personnel for the timely supply of parts.
  • Maintaining and developing strong external relationships with suppliers and internally.
  • Processing, categorising and recording into current stock on hand register, including inventory management.
  • Cost coding of all purchases in line with company requirements.
  • Assisting with recording / upgrading through the company computer system:
    • Machine history
    • Machine Hours- Daily
    • Machine Scheduled Service Requirement
    • Stock Acquisition and Despatch
    • Despatching Scheduled Oil Samples to Laboratory.
  • Implementing and operating under the companies Quality Assurance Policy.  While also assisting with the ongoing development of the Quality Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Back-up support completing the MAIN ROADS Western Australia and / or Western Power heavy haulage permits.  Including all facets of transport related to mobilising site facilities, craning, subcontracting to transport companies / general road haulage.
  • After hours contact for operational support, security alarms and maintenance of Welshpool premises.

Suitable applicants will have.

·Knowledge of Mobile Plant Earthmoving Equipment and associated ancillary plant.

·Experience in a similar role, ideally in mining / civil construction industry or busy industrial environment.

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft desktop software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • High level problem solving skills including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills in managing competing priorities in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrated good written, verbal, interpersonal skills and time management skills.
  • Effective organisational and administrative proficiency and the demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • “C” class drivers licence plus Forklift ticket preferred
