Advance Cables is well respected Australian ISO accredited electrical cable manufacturer based in Victoria, with distribution to most major electrical wholesalers. We employ over 50 staff with a strong commitment to customer growth and satisfaction throughout every level of our business.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Advance Cables is seeking a self motivated, customer focused storeperson, capable of working autonomously while adhering to OH&S requirements, Company policies and directives.
The positions are full time Day and Night Shift roles and the location is in Dandenong South. The successful applicant will be accountable for the operational duties of the warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, practicable and clean work environment, adhering to OH&S requirements.
- Communicate with Shift team members regarding priority customers and freight providers
- Forklift driving.
- Packaging cable to customer orders.
- Picking and packing orders.
- Receiving and dispatching orders.
- Data entry and invoicing.
- Stock control through stocktaking and cycle counting.
- Packing and unpacking containers.
- Basic maintenance and general house keeping.
- Other tasks as directed from time to time.
Skills and experience
Experience
- Competent in warehouse and transport activities.
- Computer literate.
Skills
- Good English communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Self motivated, good initiative and able to work autonomously and unsupervised.
- Willing and capable of following directions.
- Positive, a willingness to learn and ask questions when in doubt.
- Strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications
- Fully licensed to drive a manual vehicle.
- Current forklift license with a min' 2 years experience.

Physical Demands
Experience in the cable industry would be considered an advantage, although not necessary to apply for this position. Warehouse activities will require extended periods on your feet with some heavy lifting involved. 12 hour fixed night-shift. The ability to work safely without risk is essential to maintain zero harm.
