Our highly regarded client is an organisation that prides itself on being a leader within the logistics and freight industry. Our client is now looking to appoint a Transport Supervisor into a key role. Your main responsibility will be to manage a small fleet of trucks transporting high volumes of special needs, sensitive and time critical cargo, ensuring smooth running of operations and commitment to upholding their high standard of service.
Key duties will cover:
- Booking slots at wharf and container parks (Inbound and outbound)
- Supervise and organize the fleet of 3 company trucks and drivers
- Preparation of driver run sheets, cartage advice and general record keeping
- Organize subcontractor transport when needed
- Monitor and control truck and trailer maintenance
This position requires a self -motivated, driven, autonomous and resilient professional with the following skills & experience;
- Container movement to and from the wharf
- Coordinating the movement of container trucks
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role of container allocator/ transport coordinator
- Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Cargowise and One Stop system experience preferred
