Initial Training in Melbourne, followed by a 12 Month Posting in Zhejiang Province, China

Arlec Australia is a long established, well respected Australian company, importing and distributing electrical products throughout Australia and overseas.  Due to business growth, we currently have an opportunity for degree qualified Purchasing Officers to join our business.  The initial induction & training period will be at our Head Office in Blackburn North, followed by a 12 month posting in our office located in Zhejiang Province, China.    These roles will provide you with the experience and grounding required to further develop your career with Arlec in Melbourne at the completion of your posting in China.

It is therefore essential that you are:

• Fluent in written & spoken Mandarin

• Have at least Australian Permanent Residency

• Willing to relocate to Zhejiang Province, China, for a period of 12 months

To be successful, candidates will need to prove their ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, and be willing to learn and grow within the organisation.  We are seeking candidates with the following attributes & qualifications:

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Strong Excel experience

• Attention to detail

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Bachelor or post-graduate qualification in Finance, Business, Logistics etc.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

• Liaison with our Chinese suppliers & Head Office staff
• Maintaining accurate information re product status, forecasts etc.
• Placing of purchase orders relating to shipping of goods; verification of freight invoices
• Opportunity to lead & develop a small team of local Purchasing staff
