Production Team Leader

Our client are a family owned and operated business, manufacturing, wholesaling and installing of vehicle safety products and vehicle fit-out solutions across Australia and New Zealand. Founded in the 70’s they have set itself to be leaders in the development of Occupant Protection Systems committed to providing world class Motor Vehicle Occupant Protection Products. 

Due to an increase in production they require a Production Team Leader for there manufacturing facility for the day and afternoon shift.

They are looking for someone with similar supervision or leading hand role within a vehicle manufacturing environment, they need to have experience in a leadership role  be a hands on person with an excellent eye for detail, they will definitely need some management and supervisory experience and have experience within a manufacturing environment preferably vehicle manufacturing. 

Day Shift: 6:30-3:00 pm, Mon-Thu (6:00 am start Fridays with 2 hours O/T)

Afternoon Shift: 3:00-11:00 pm, Mon-Thu (2:30 pm start on Fridays, no OT)

* Hours subject to change as dictated by requirements.
 

Pay rate will start at $33 p/h permanent + 15% afternoon loading for afternoon shift.

If position requires to start casual it will be F/T rate + 25% casual loading (+ 15% afternoon loading for afternoon shift)

6 month probationary period.

• Supervise production team
• Ensure products are made to specifications 
• Ensure promised lead times are kept
• Schedule production and direct purchasing
• Schedule implementation
• Identification of material requirements
• Hands on production activities when required
• Maintain a safe work environment 
• Shift hand over communications
• General Housekeeping and practices 

• Production supervision experience within a manufacturing type of environment
• Trade qualification would be an advantage
• Mechanical aptitude with welding experience 
• LEAN practices
• Knowledge of manufacturing capabilities
• Forklift license would be advantageous
