An exciting opportunity exists for a people focused and versatile leader to join our Sydney Distribution Centre Team as DC Supervisor, based at our modern, purpose built facility in Eastern Creek.
Reporting to the State Distribution Centre Manager – NSW, the primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Managing the day to day operations, resources and workflow within the DC to ensure clients receive orders accurately and on time
- Playing an active role in recruitment, as well as training, coaching and developing the team
- Active on-floor operational leadership – planning, prioritising and problem solving
- Positive, proactive engagement with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results and deliver improvements.
- Proactively communicating across different facets of the business in regards to production schedules and ongoing operations
- Ensuring that a safe working environment is promoted and maintained at all times
- Administration and reporting as and where required
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and expertise:
- Minimum of 5 years employment background in full warehousing operations at supervisor level or above.
- Experience in an FMCG and/or large business high volume environment preferred
- Certificate IV in Warehousing or other logistics qualifications preferred
- Proven leadership skills
- Knowledge and ability to use computerised WMS.
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and email software.
- Experience using scanners and other logistics technologies
- Familiarity with WHS and safe work practices
- Able to communicate with all levels of Senior management
- A highly motivated individual with the ability to work without direct supervision, and analyse and problem solve in a high volume work environment
- High attention to detail
- Commitment to customer service
- Sound communication skills, with experience dealing with both internal and external customers.
