They are seeking to appoint a talented Branch Operations Manager to provide strategic direction and operational control of the Moving Services Domestic and International activities in order to ensure the cost effective movement of freight, enhance customer service and achieve budgeted revenue/profit and cash flow targets to contribute to the direction and success of the whole business as part of the Moving Services Senior Management Team.
 
This is an exciting career opportunity for a Relocations Branch Manager with demonstrated success in a similar role, and who enjoys the challenges of delivering to targets whilst delivering a premium service.
 
Your key responsibilities
  • To maximise the utilisation of company resources available to the Branch towards the achievement of Branch objectives in order to achieve operational budgets.
  • To manage container demurrage costs ensuring efficient utilisation of equipment & resources.
  • To liaise with the claims department to ensure customer complaints regarding damages or missing items are handled in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Oversee and direct all functions relating to the Operations Department.
  • To provide training and guidance to the branch and surrounding region, thereby facilitating their development in order to ensure the achievement of individual and Branch objectives.
  • Client liaison – operating as the escalation for customers
  • To ensure the effective operation and control of the Branch’s customer storage facilities in order to maximise warehouse utilisation.
  • To monitor the performance of contract carriers, ensuring compliance to quality standards and established SLA’s
  • Branch compliance management – legislative requirements, OH&S, management reporting, maintenance, purchasing processes & recycling
  • QA of customer experience and operational performance
  • Ensure that storage, loading and packing operations conforms to organizational standards.
  • Oversee the branch property leasing portfolio
  • P&L & Budget management
What you will bring to this role
  • Demonstrated experience as a Branch Manager of a Relocation operation
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • A strong customer centricity – including hands on experience dealing with major customers
  • Experience in problem solving, both systems and processes, identifying route cause and managing the change process to ensure issues are rectified expediently
  • Minimum 5 years leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a claims process
  • Experience in operational management reporting
  • Compliance management
  • A  commitment to WH&S
  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant business related field adv
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
