Salvos Stores is the retail arm of The Salvation Army Australia Southern Territory, operating over 200 retail stores. Salvos Stores operates as a fully functioning retail business, recycling preloved goods and relying heavily on the generosity of the public and corporations for quality donations. The funds raised through our stores helps support the many social programs managed by The Salvation Army.
Salvos Stores has a unique and rare vacancy for a suitably qualified and well-presented person for the above position, located at Tyabb Rd, Mornington and will service the 30 stores in the South East Area of Melbourne plus the Mornington Peninsula Area itself. This is truly a local opportunity.
The Role
Your role as Driver/Furniture Removalist will include but not be limited to:
- Ensure the timely and scheduled collection of goods from donor homes/sites and Salvos Stores.
- Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of goods to stores and depots, including assisting Store staff with the storage, removal and placement of goods as required
- Complete routine documentation in a timely, accurate manner using an Ipad
- Maintain the professional presentation of Salvos Stores property
- Work harmoniously and effortlessly with your co driver/furniture removalist daily as you both service your donor, depot and store customers
- Following schedules, the directions of the Area Manager and reporting to the Logistics Supervisor.
You
As the successful applicant you will have the following attributes:
- Hold a Current Medium Rigid Licence
- Have experience in furniture and retail transport activities.
- Deliver Extraordinary Customer Service and Customer Value
- Be an energetic, team player and have the initiative and drive to go the extra mile
- Ability to drive truck safely and operate lifting gear
- Excellent driving skills and safety record
