About the role
Responsibilities
Product Demand and Inventory Management
- Develop monthly and annual product demand forecasts based on sales trends, sales forecasts and marketing assumptions
- Liaise with suppliers (local and international) on product, production schedules and delivery requirements
- Responsible for all purchase orders and approval processes
- Drive just-in-time inventory level through detailed stock on hand/lead time analysis. Minimize both out of stock and inventory storage costs
- Inventory Control – inbound receipts, inbound quality check, stock abatement and stocktake.
- Work closely with sales team and finance to manage aged inventory
- Maintain database of product SKU's including item codes, accounting groups, product specifications and certifications
- Manage product claims and quality assessments
- Prepare monthly stock reports
Warehouse/Logistics Management
- Manage 3rd party logistics/warehouse provider overseeing all aspects of day to day running including stock inwards, outbound, EDI order processing, general stock inventory
- Maintain contract requirements with 3rd party logistics/warehouse provider, including monthly KPI meetings and annual reviews
- Negotiate contracts with transport providers for pallet, carton and local cartage
- Manage freight forwarders including cost analysis and monitoring KPI service levels
Customer Service and Order Fulfilment
- Ensure a high level of customer service and timely product fulfilment and order deliveries.
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer delivery schedules
- Ensure distribution and documentation control of customer orders to the team members
- Tracking and monitoring of the progress of customer order
- Provide good after-sales support to the customers
- Prepare relevant weekly management reports
Others
- Manage team members covering inventory control, purchasing, quality control and customer service
- Manage the Operations budget covering costs for freight, warehousing, IT, staffing and office management
- Manage certification documentation
Skills and experience
- Minimum 8 years' of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills including high Excel proficiency
- Ability to inspire and lead a team effectively to meet deadlines
- Good communications skills
- Strong belief in quality, customer service levels, and cost efficiency
- Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred
