The Company

Our client is an industry leader in the manufacturing industry who are continuing to grow in a niche market and lead strong brands across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. A privately owned agile business who have positioned themselves in a financially secure state, they are now looking to recruit a business critical, plant based position of Shift Manager, and 2IC to Site Manager, at their inner City Suburb plant.

The Role:
  • Effectively manage a team of approximately 30-40 employees, driving continued development across people to build a strong team consistent with growth across the site.
  • Meet all targets across employee engagement, OEE, safety, quality and any other KPI’s set by the Operations Manager on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Lead, manage and drive a continuous improvement culture across production.
  • Work cohesively with other business units including Engineering & Maintenance, Quality and Warehousing to develop and implement strategies to meet common goals across OEE, schedule adherence, waste and DIFOT.
  • Ensure all operational reports are reported on accurately and in a timely and professional manner.
  • Investigate and develop solutions with the leadership group for operational issues across the site.
Your Background
  • Must have experience in a complex food manufacturing organization (or similar fast paced manufacturing industry).
  • Must understand quality and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment, with experience driving manufacturing process improvements.
  • A proven background implementing LEAN manufacturing processes and driving a collaborative and highly performing culture.
  • Must have leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to drive change within a challenging workforce and exposure to working shifts.
  • Achievement focused with a humanistic approach to encouraging performance improving behaviors and creating vision.
  • Positive means to drive performance through people, with a caring and communicative approach in leading their teams and creating vision.
