This well-known and reputable organisation has been operating in Melbourne for more than 90 years. They are dedicated to providing dependable, friendly services whilst actively improving quality at all levels. They have outlets located at various suburban sites across Melbourne.

Growth in their market has increased the need for quality leaders to meet the development and demands of their Operational Service.  As a result they are currently seeking to appoint an Operations Supervisor to join the current team on a permanent basis. Your main objective is to provide direct support and assistance to the Regional Manager, Senior Operations Supervisors and Drivers. You will assist and support Drivers to ensure that dependable services are provided to customers by drivers departing on time, that replacements are efficiently sourced for shift changes and that vehicles are ready and presentable. You will utilise industry leading diagnostic equipment and your Operational experience to monitor and action customer feedback, communicate with drivers, cover shifts and also investigate and action accidents. You will liaise with the workshop and bodyshop in respect to repairs, servicing and breakdowns and have a clear focus on OH&S regulations at all times.

Your strong relationship skills with key on-site stakeholders (Operations Staff, Managers, Drivers and Schedulers) and the capacity to adapt to a diverse environment will be to the fore. Your well developed communications skills and positive attitude to change set you apart. Ideally you will have been exposed to a fast paced operating environment and high workload scenario. You will have the ability to identify changing trends, with particular skills in working within a transport and logistics environment, strong attention to detail,  be a proven self starter and wanting to progress in the transport industry. Excellent organisational and time management skills are expected.

Experience in Hospitality, Transport, Defence or Manufacturing would fit you well for the position.

Steady work hours apply however shift work forms part of the role with the opportunity of Overtime Hours also available. An HR Licence is preferred but not essential to apply and relevant background checks will be mandatory including a Working with Children’s Check.
