The opportunity; As the PM Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring site operational efficiency through effective leadership and delegation of workloads to your teams.

The Role

  • Receive all interstate/regional freight into the depot and organise vehicle unloading
  • Oversee that consignments are placed in correct outbound delivery run for loading
  • Ensure that all freight is loaded to maximum weight and cubic capacity
  • Ensure dangerous goods are handled to comply with the Dangerous Goods Act
  • Ensure freight is restrained from movement and any items above gates are approximately strapped
  • Ensure all safety requirements are at met
  • Determine and consult with Operations/Branch Manager regarding daily labour hire requirements

The Candidate

  • An awareness of road legislation and permit conditions
  • Understanding of freight handling process and operational requirements
  • Ability to nurture a harmonious, congenial and efficient working environment
  • Ability to prioritise work load and achieve results through people
  • Demonstrated team leadership
  • Proven ability to build and maintain excellent relations with management, both internally and externally
  • North Queensland transit experienced preferred but NOT essential
