The Company
Our client is a large and iconic industrial manufacturing company that boasts a large and varied product range. Being a leader within Australia they have a clear vision and outstanding attitude towards their customer base. They are currently experiencing substantial growth and are well poised for an exciting journey ahead.
Due to this growth of the business they are currently seeking a Logistics/Transport Planner to support their Logistics function.
The Role
Reporting to the GM of Operations, you will be responsible for planning the transport requirements including road, rail and costal transportation. You will be pivotal in load planning and optimisation of road transport of heavy, oversized equipment. You will also be responsible for outbound distribution, optimisation of pay loads and adhering to service level agreements as per company policy. This position will have regular interaction with the current 3PL and other internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the logistics, road transportation sector
- Sound knowledge of outbound distribution practices aligned to road transportation
- Prior experience planning the load optimisation and road transport for large, heavy equipment
- Experience pre planning loads based on cubic/mass measurements and calculations
- Experience with chain of responsibility (COR) laws and obligations
- Forklift license essential
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and SAP (ERP)
