Our company is a distributor of Scientific supplies to a large number of industries throughout Australia. Our products range from small low value consumable products to large high value capital equipment.
Due to expansion we are currently hiring a Warehouse Manager to bring his/her expertise to our organisation.
The role:
- Supervise daily activities to ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with our company procedures
- Train staff in local procedures
- Participate in recommendations for improvement to work processes
- Ensure all instances of service failure, loss, or damage to goods are investigated and develop and instigate remedial action to prevent recurrence
- Make effective decisions to ensure warehouse is operating optimally
- Ensure all operations are conducted in a way that ensures the safety of staff
- Develop and maintain a professional and motivated team by conducting regular communication and counseling activities
- Eliminate down time due to accident, injury or work related illness by ensuring the implementation and maintenance of safe working practices and procedures
The Person:
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Management role in a similar environment
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong people management skills
- Ability to think on your feet
- Display a high level of confidentiality at all times
- Excellent understanding of Dangerous Goods safe work practices, emergency spills, receipting, storage and packaging
- Results orientated
- High Personal standards of honesty and integrity
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
