About the role:

In your role as a Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Australian Projects delivery team to manage the logistics, import and distribution of wind turbine components to Senvion’s wind farm sites across Australia. 

Reporting to the Transport, Cranage and Installation Manager APAC, your role will see you work closely with Senvion’s Logistics team at our Hamburg, Germany Head quarters, local land transport companies, Non-Conformance Coordinator, shipping companies and their agents along with Senvion’s site and project management teams.

This busy and varied role will see you assume accountability for: 

  • Management and coordination of the complete transport package of a project including management of all incoming components, Customs clearance, storage and local land transport;
  • Supporting the site team with the management of all logistics related matters;
  • Ensuring the required flow of materials to projects is managed according to project schedule;
  • Managing the tender process for transport from definition of scope, offer evaluation until contract award;
  • Management of day-to-day planning and coordination of all local transport activities;
  • Monitoring and managing performance of contractors and monitor compliance with instructions and specifications;
  • Monitor and manage HSE performance of local contractors until site entrance; 
  • Management of the return of NCR material in consultation with the NCR Coordinator; and
  • Management of claims in consultation with project management.

Your role will see you work closely with local site teams and Project Managers and Schedulers to ensure that all imports and exports are managed efficiently, safely and inline with contractual obligations.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity that will see you involved in cutting edge Australian wind projects utilising the latest turbine technology new to Australia.

This role will be based in our Melbourne CBD office and may see you travel to various Australian ports and sites along with international travel as required.

 

What you will bring:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • An undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent; 
  • Experience in a similar position ideally with an OEM within the renewable sector in a Logistics or import role involved in the import of large scale project cargo; 
  • Solid understanding of Australian Customs laws, import tax, quarantine requirements and familiarity with the import of general freight and project cargo; 
  • Experience in the coordination of over-dimensional freight and management of contractors providing these services;
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;  
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management abilities and extensive knowledge of the Australian wind sector; 
  • Solid SAP skills; and 
  • An unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
