The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for a Manufacturing Associate to join the Biotechnology Manufacturing Facility.
The CSL Biotechnology Manufacturing Facility is part of the CSL R&D Group. In this facility we use mammalian cells and DNA technology to manufacture drugs that will be used to treat life-threatening diseases.
In the Biotechnology Manufacturing Facility, we work in collaboration with Process Development, Quality, and other Technical and business functions in order to ensure efficient and safe drug substance manufacturing processes for the production of multiple recombinant proteins.
The role
Reporting to the R&D Downstream Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with applicable cGXP regulations
- Work with the BMF team to assist with achieving key manufacturing deliverables as agreed in the bulk manufacturing schedule
- Ensure that all productions deviations are reported; assist in the investigation of critical deviations
- Ensure the production areas and equipment are clean and when appropriate disinfected
- Participate in training and ensure that the cGxP training status is current
- Participate in various BMF project activities and liaise with other functional groups involved in technical transfer of manufacturing processes to the BMF
To be successful
- Preferred tertiary qualifications in Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical/Process Engineering or Food Science technology
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Mechanical Aptitude
- An understanding of process flow, aseptic technique and purification processes. eg. Chromatography, Tangential Flow Filtration, Virus Filtration, Formulation
- Some manufacturing experience is preferred
