What's the role?
We are seeking a casual Distribution Assistant to work approximately 22 hours per week at our Davies Brothers Direct distribution centre in Western Junction, TAS. You'll be required to unload and load trucks, prepare and pack product for distribution and process returns.
A typical day could see you performing the following tasks:
- Packing and sorting newspapers, brochures and magazines within allocated timeframes.
- Operation of strapper machinery.
- Receipt and processing of products including preparing labels and ensuring distribution run sheets are in order.
- Ad-hoc tasks such as completing forms, sending emails and responding to customer phone enquiries.
- Ensuring the safe operation of machinery at all times.
Your working hours will predominantly be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Who you are
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment involving process work or pick/packing.
- License to perform High Risk Work i.e. Forklift license.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Collaborative team player approach to your work.
- Strong adherence to safety policies and standards.
- Manual Handling capability is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a time-constrained environment.
- Adaptability to work in a job-rotation environment.
- Availability to work two Sundays per month with flexibility to cover additional shifts at short notice.
