Cahill Transport is a family owned Transport company, a Logistics service provider with Depots in all major cities across Australia. We provide a high-quality range of services including interstate and local transportation, warehousing and wharf cartage. We are currently seeking an experienced State Manager to join our organisation based in our Perth Depot. We are looking for someone who has a transport/operational background and the ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines.
Desired Qualities:
- Experience in a dynamic Logistics environment
- Excellent knowledge of transport compliance requirements including Chain of Responsibility regulations
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
- Developed level of administrative skills
- Experience in Freight 20:20 or a similar transport system would be highly regarded
- Customer communication skills
- Staff management experience
- Strong Leadership skills
- Profit & Loss management skills
- Ability to find and develop new business
Key Tasks:
- Control and oversee all aspects of transportation and warehousing (local, interstate, containers)
- Continue to build on existing strong relationships with major and specialist customers and maximise the full sales potential within each account
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and channels of distribution.
- Ensure efficient allocation and optimal use of fleet meeting internal and external customer requirements with a low cost solution
- Ensure complete client satisfaction and maintain customer relationships
- Lead, develop and motivate the operational and warehouse team through delegation, advice and direction
- Monitor the performance and behaviour of all staff and ensure appropriate standards are maintained
- Work with the National Management team to meet the strategic objectives of the business
- Work in line with company policies/procedures and KPI's set to optimise business operations
- Drive sales and manage client contact in geographic area of responsibility
- Complete management reports monthly
- Oversee the operations and warehousing teams to ensure full logistical solutions
In this role you will work closely with senior management to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the transport fleet.
We are looking for someone who has a minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar role. With you, you will bring your demonstrated operational transport experience and a sound knowledge of road transport related legislation and regulations.
