THE BUSINESS
Established in 1969, the business has grown to be one of Australia’s largest privately owned meat operations. The company operates three processing sites including a pork de-boning facility, a case ready facility and an abattoir. The business serves a wide variety of markets including supermarket, retail, distributor, manufacturing and export.
THE ROLE
Due to continued growth and the introduction of a Second Shift at our Arndell Park site, the Operations Manager role is a new position responsible for the key safety, quality, business performance and people based key performance indicators for the site Production Department.
Key to this role is the ability to lead and develop the team around them. Working closely with the site General Manager the Operations Manager will develop objectives in line with business strategic priorities and cascade objectives through levels of management and supervision in the department. The Operations Manager will focus on improved performance of the team through coaching and mentoring key team members with a whole of business approach to production.
THE CANDIDATE
- Tertiary qualifications or substantial practical experience in this area
- Proven experience in operations management
- Production experience at a senior level
- FMCG exposure
- Strong interpersonal skills/managerial skills
- Ability to manage budgets and expenditure
- Excellent communication skills & the ability to communicate confidently at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to think quickly, clearly, logically whilst meeting deadlines
- Highly motivated and self driven with sound attention to detail
- Intermediate level with all Microsoft Office applications
