Detail information about job Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. Terms and conditions vacancy

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or 3rd or 4th year apprentice.

Have you ever wanted to work in paradise, go fishing before or maybe after work, or even go the beach for swim during your lunch break? We are only  2 minutes to the beach.

Sounds like you, maybe you and your family want to move from the cold of the Southern States. If it's something you have been thinking about, come and have a talk to me!!!!

If you have never worked on a bus before, guess what, most bus and coach mechanics are truck trained. The engine is up the other end and is generally the same as working on a conventional cab truck. Not all jobs are easy, but nowhere as hard as they once were!

So, we are looking to add to our team.

The job entails servicing, general maintenance and make sure all buses are in the best condition at all times.

You will be required to service a fleet of modern low floor and school buses, with the majority of buses being Australian manufactured on European chassis.

The successful applicant must have the following:

  • Must have minimum MR Licence.
  • Must have some experience on European chassis.
  • Must have experience on brakes, suspension and steering as well as doing scheduled service work.
  • You will need a good positive work ethic and not be afraid to ask for help.
  • The ability to pick things up quickly and the attitude of wanting to learn new things through manufacturer sponsored training packages.
  • Be a tidy mechanic, pick up after yourself and follow through with paperwork at the end of a job.
  • Able to adhere to WH&S regulations at all times and look out for your workmates.

However, the most important part of your job will be to be part of our team with the ability to "own the job" and work with us.

So what's in it for you?

A competitive wage, well equipped workshop, laid back atmosphere where quality not quantity is what we are about. If you're the right person, then I'm willing to talk the talk if you can walk the walk.

Due to Bribie Island Coaches being a smoke free workplace, smoking is prohibited during work hours.

Hours of work are 7.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Please send your resume and a covering letter outlining your experience to [email protected] or call Terry on 0429 933 584 to discuss further.
