Chemtrans, a division of K&S Freighters, is a well-respected and industry leader in the safe and efficient transportation, storage and delivery of Dangerous Goods and hazardous substances throughout Australia. Our Sydney operation forms part of a wide network of strategically placed branches that enable us to provide full end to end logistics solutions to the Dangerous Goods and hazardous substances industry.
We are currently seeking an experienced, energetic and process driven person to fulfill the position of Wharf Allocator
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management and allocation of the day to day work load.
Role Requirements:
- Efficiently and safely allocate all wharf fleet movements to ensure customer requirements are met
- Schedule driver activities and other tasks for the operation as required on a daily basis
- Work with the operations team to maximise fleet efficiency
- Prepare reports on fleet activity as required by management and the customer
- Be able to identify and reduce risk and work to improve productivity
- Liaise with customers and key operational staff in a professional and timely manner
- Manage all documentation and paper work in a concise and timely manner
- Work closely with the driver group and operations team
- Achieve cost, operating efficiency and customer satisfaction targets
- Ensure you comply with all Legislation and Company Safety & Compliance requirements
Other selection criteria:
- Extensive experience in wharf scheduling and allocating
- Planning and organisational skills
- Problem solving and people skills
- Time management and communication skills
- Knowledge of the greater Sydney area is an advantage
- Ability to liaise with internal and external customers
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new transport programs currently being implemented
- Ability to show strong attention to detail in particular completion of all tasks on time
- Ability to show strong leadership to the driver team
- Positive attitude and commitment towards workplace Health, Safety and legal Compliance
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination prior to employment
