The Opportunity
We are seeking to recruit a Terminal Operator to complement the team in our Intermodal Whyalla Depot. Working closely with our Operations Supervisor, train crew and Regional Manager, the prime purpose of this role is the coordination, planning, efficient shunting and marshalling, of trains within the terminal.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Tracking the movement of product on/off wagons and transport
- Proactively work towards supporting & achieving safety goals
- Directing the safe movement of all vehicles within the terminal
- Preparing wagons for the placement and removal of containers product
- Proactively working with customers to meet freight requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be looking to build a long-term career within the rail and transport industry and will have a genuine interest in adding value and helping our business to grow. A strong focus on customer service is a must and prior experience in train shunting and marshalling is highly desirable. You will have a passion for safety and be vigilant of your own safety and the safety of others in a fast paced environment. Previous experience in a shift work environment is advantageous.
