Widely recognized and well positioned in the Australian market, this business are a leading retailer. They run a large scale operation and currently have an opportunity to bring in a Warehouse Supervisor to join the team on a max-term contract basis.
Working within an established team culture this role will be charged with taking control of a portion of the operations, ensuring the safety and productivity of the team. Typical daily duties will include the following;
• Leading and reporting on safety initiatives
• Team leadership and deployment of staff
• Management of staff performance and performance plans
• Participation in DC planning and resource management
• Participation in CI projects
• Mentoring, coaching and training of staff
The DC is a large fast moving operation and requires managers with the ability to think on their feet and react quickly to their environment. To be considered for this excellent opportunity it is expected that you have the following skills and attributes:
• Strong operational management exposure (ideally from warehousing, but manufacturing or transport will be considered)
• Advanced communication skills, with the ability to deliver messages to large groups
• Mature minded, able to develop and coach staff through issues
• Highly exposed to workplace safety
• Exposure to working with unions and enterprise agreements
• Experience working in Retail, FMCG or 3PL is highly desired with availability to work across a 7-day roster
