Crawfords operates a network of 5 sites across Eastern Australia. Founded in 1999 in Singleton, and now headquartered in Newcastle, Crawfords vision is to be a leading integrated rail and road freight-line marketplace for the mining sector, manufacturing, dangerous goods and agricultural business across the Eastern Australian regional corridor.
Due to increase in workload we are looking for experienced Dangerous Goods - MC Truck Drivers - Long haul to join our dynamic team at our Sandgate or Singleton depot for an immediate start. As a Truck Driver you will be primarily responsible for delivering goods in a safe and efficient manner.
Other responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Ensured cargo is secured properly and compliant
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules within WHS standards
- Document and log work/rest periods
- Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with customers and the public
- Report any defects, accidents or violations
- Followed all appropriate traffic laws
- Keep truck and associated equipment tidy and in good working order
To be successful in this role, you will require the following skills and attributes:
- Current Multi-Combination (MC) license
- Safe driving record/history
- Dangerous goods ticket, SSAN/UHL & MSIC (or willing to obtain)
- The ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and random Drug & Alcohol testing
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Reliable & flexible with great working attitude
- High attention to detail, with a focus on correctly finalising paperwork
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Strong knowledge of WHS requirements
