Our client is a multi – billion dollar player in the construction space with a multinational network spanning more than 30 countries.
Reporting to the Procurement manager, and in a team of six, we are seeking a Buyer to work with their team and a large network of local and international suppliers in a challenging and detail focussed role.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Researching, evaluating and purchasing goods whilst negotiating price, lead times and maintaining relevant quality standards.
- Analyse bid results and report and recommend to relevant managers and stakeholders in the business.
- Monitor, manage and maintain vendor status whilst working on multiple projects spanning millions of dollars
- Attend project and procurement meetings
- Consult and inform key staff on progress, projects and WIP, whilst maintaining accurate records, communicating effectively and maintain strategies
- Use and maintain the SAP system and keep accurate and timely records and action important and critical items.
As the successful applicant you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Strong computer skills including SAP, Microsoft office based systems and email
- At least two years in a similar role in a procurement team for a large business and working on large projects.
- The ability to deal with foreign suppliers and, manage exchange rates, taxes, duties and charges efficiently and confidently
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude to enable the best outcomes at all times
- Current drivers licence and own transport.
- The ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently whilst maintaining project timings, progress updates and performance gaps.
The ability to speak a second language would be favourable as well as a relevant tertiary qualification . As an incredibly focussed, well organised and driven individual you will thrive in a career building role.
