XL Express is a leading privately owned national road express transport company who have been providing distribution services to large blue chip clients throughout Australia for over 25 years.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced AM OPERATIONS MANAGER to join the Melbourne operations team at Tullamarine.
As the AM Operations Manager you will work closely with the Depot Manager, and be responsible for all facets of the interstate road express AM operations. This will include management of both employees and Contract Carriers so that all freight both inbound and outbound is delivered on time as per customers and XL Express requirements.
We are seeking a professional candidate who can succeed in :
- Ensuring efficient delivery performance and deadlines.
- Oversight of PUD drivers, Bulk Drivers and Prime Mover Hauliers via subordinate Supervisors and Team Leaders.
- Creating developing and maintaining productive working teams including mentoring and developing subordinates.
- Maintaining a healthy and safe working environment and compliance with WHS policy and XL Express procedures.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Regular reporting – including KPI's, WHS, labour hours, safety incidents etc.
The successful candidate must have:
- Previous experience in a similar role or be able to demonstrate the ability to elevate to this role.
- Highly developed leadership and operational management skills – a leader and team builder.
- Good planning and communications skills together with a 'can-do' attitude
- Excellent time management skills
- Good computer skills; Word, Excel and email
The successful candidate must be able to operate at management level, identifying priorities whilst still being able to operate at a hands-on level when required. This is a high-profile role that requires strong leadership and previous experience partnering with Senior Management.
