A major steel manufacturing site in Acacia Ridge seeks a Transport Admin Assistant to join their team. The role will involve providing assistance in the daily planning of the site's operations. Previous experience in Transport Allocation, logistics, purchasing and administration in steel manufacturing or a similar industry will be looked upon favourably.

This role will involve a high degree of interaction with customers and colleagues in order to achieve workplace objectives. The position would be suited to someone who is switched-on, with attention to detail who can work well as part of a team.

The Transport Admin Assistant will mainly be working with the Senior Planner on the site, as well as coordinating with the Dispatch team and Truck Drivers. Proven communication skills will be looked upon favourably as you will be interacting with many different colleagues and customers.

Our client is a major steel manufacturer, based in Acacia ridge. They are a nationally-recognised brand, with a strong legacy for delivering quality steel products to a range of clients across the country in the private and industrial sectors.

Description

The position will consist of Monday-Friday full time hours in a mainly office based role. You will be liaising with a range of workers across the site and working to coordinate scheduling and planning in support the Senior Planner to ensure targets and team objectives are met. Efficient service, organisational skills, communication and computer skills are the key abilities that will be required to perform this role effectively.

Profile

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the below characteristics:

- An individual who enjoys working closely with others as part of a team

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc)

- Experience in a similar role or transferable skills that can be demonstrated in an interview.

- A willingness to learn new skills and occasionally assist in other roles within the office environment as required by site in order to achieve team objectives

- The ability to assist a wide range of customers and colleagues across the industry.

- A willingness to perform some overtime where required (1-2hrs occasionally when required)

- Must be able to work 2x Saturdays per year to do stock take with the rest of the team.
