The opportunity
  
Reporting into the Australian Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Controller is critical to the success of the supply chain function of James Hardie. They will be responsible for managing inventory levels across Australia to achieve operational targets, enhance customer experience and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to increase James Hardie’s competitive position in the market.
  
Key responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute stock transfers between plants and distribution centers in Australia to maintain inventory levels and support sales and distribution activities
  • Generate short term inventory Stock on Hand forecast and answer enquiries around ETA from key internal stakeholders
  • Generate accessories sales forecast at SKU level and place purchase orders based on sales trends, inventory holdings and delivery schedule
  • Negotiate and track delivery schedule with accessories suppliers and monitor supplier performance
  • Improve branch transfer and ordering processes in SAP, and maintain SAP MRP parameters and monthly forecast data; manage outstanding dockets and purchase orders in SAP on a weekly basis
  • Comply with laws, regulations and company policies and requirements
  • Provide health and safety coaching and training to support James Hardie’s vision of Zero Harm
About you
  
In order to be successful you will have the ability to influence and challenge the business to look at innovative ways to help support the growth of James Hardie.
  
We are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain or related field
  • Previous experience with SAP
  • Macro level excel
  • Previously worked in a fast-paced supply chain preferably with experience in import/ export activities
  • A strong customer service focus and a track record of building strong partnerships and mutual trust with internal and external partners
  • The ability to influence and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data and make judgment calls accordingly
  • Hands on approach, able to operate across all levels of business and across all stakeholders
