We are looking for a Biological Manufacturing Technician to join our Production Operations team based at our Penrith manufacturing facility.
As a Manufacturing Technician you will be responsible for carrying out area specific tasks in order to meet production schedules.
Job Requirements:
- Commitment to EH&S
- Carrying out all the manufacturing activities required as per quality and safety standards
- Operating production equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Can do attitude
- Capable of detecting and resolving equipment/process issues
- Good communication, planning and time management skills
- Willingness to work extra hours and/or overtime to support production schedules (including some weekends and participation in On Call roster)
- Liaise with and effectively build strong relationships with other team members and key stakeholders
- Tertiary qualifications in Biological Science – desirable
Job Responsibilities:
- Adherence to the production schedule by carrying out tasks as required
- Participation in various compliance related activities (eg GMP. EH&S, etc)
- Record keeping in Batch Records and Logbooks; writing and review of SOP’s
- Housekeeping of work areas
- Sterilisation of equipment and vessels – use of autoclave and in situ vessel sterilization
- Sterile filtration of solutions
- Clean room gowning and aseptic techniques
- Fermentation in small and large scale vessels
- Inactivation and downstream processing
- Sampling of processes and systems as required.
A genuine interest in production oriented roles as well as the desire to actively participate in a team environment is an important prerequisite. You will be required to work within all areas of Production to provide cross-functional support. Your 1st rotation will be in our Media Preparation department.
