We are looking for a Biological Manufacturing Technician to join our Production Operations team based at our Penrith manufacturing facility.

As a Manufacturing Technician you will be responsible for carrying out area specific tasks in order to meet production schedules. 

Job Requirements:

  • Commitment to EH&S
  • Carrying out all the manufacturing activities required as per quality and safety standards
  • Operating production equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Can do attitude
  • Capable of detecting and resolving equipment/process issues
  • Good communication, planning and time management skills
  • Willingness to work extra hours and/or overtime to support production schedules (including some weekends and participation in On Call roster)
  • Liaise with and effectively build strong relationships with other team members and key stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in Biological Science – desirable

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to the production schedule by carrying out tasks as required
  • Participation in various compliance related activities (eg GMP. EH&S, etc)
  • Record keeping in Batch Records and Logbooks; writing and review of SOP’s
  • Housekeeping of work areas
  • Sterilisation of equipment and vessels – use of autoclave and in situ vessel sterilization
  • Sterile filtration of solutions
  • Clean room gowning and aseptic techniques
  • Fermentation in small and large scale vessels
  • Inactivation and downstream processing
  • Sampling of processes and systems as required.

A genuine interest in production oriented roles as well as the desire to actively participate in a team environment is an important prerequisite.  You will be required to work within all areas of Production to provide cross-functional support.  Your 1st rotation will be in our Media Preparation department.
