Located in Scoresby, we have a Production Lead role to fill in an FMCG cereal and muesli snack food manufacturer.
We are interested in meeting applicants who will thrive on securing sound operational outcomes within a food manufacturing business subject to growth, change and delivering quality food products to branded and private label customers as well as promoting and maintaining a safe environment for staff.
Key responsibilities
- Must have a knowledge of bar forming equipment: Conti Mixers, horizontal flow wrapping machines, robotic packing equipment, weighing machines and process automation.
- Must be flexible to work weekends on a rotating roster.
- Oversee the supervision of line employee's work quality, productivity and attendance. This role also includes being responsible for the line employee's work and production levels.
- Identification of appropriate adjustments to machines and required troubleshooting with machine technicians.
- Maintenance of a full roster ensuring that line positions are manned and operated.
- Recommendation and assistance with implementing operating procedures which would ensure the quality of the lines' products. There would also be a requirement to abide by and enforce quality and safety standards with production line staff.
- Ensure that the line operates without incident or downtime. This responsibility would also involve the documenting of maintenance issues and subsequent follow up.
- Promote continuous improvement within the bar line operation recommended by management. This may include getting involved with Engineering team in any process improvement projects or line enhancements recommended.
- Ensure that all new line employees are trained and mentored.
- Liaise with other departments to rectify issues with scheduling or human resources.
- Ensuring that the team and all staff are OH & S compliant.
- Engagement with site peers, quality assurance,scheduling and safety on a weekly basis to ensure that relevant issues are discussed.
Key Personal Attributes
- Demonstrated working experience within a fast moving consumable goods food manufacturing environment for 5+ years.
- Relevant engineering degree level or mechanical or electrical trade qualifications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage product quality, safety, productivity and attendance of a team of line employees.
- Proven ability to multitask, set and manage priorities based on organisational requirements.
- A track record of delivering results within a production team environment
- Intermediate excel and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to work with peers in a positive manner on a daily basis to support the customer and team.
- Good interpersonal experience with a wide range of business people.
- The drive to meet and own the outcomes sought from this role.
- Exceptional written, verbal communications and organizational skills.
- Active listening skills.
- Understanding and proven commitment to the role.
