As part of the Hudson Pacific Corporation, Bakery Fresh is a specialist facility manufacturing large volume chilled and frozen value-added bread products for the Export, Retail and Foodservice industries.
With 80 staff, we specialise in supplying private label value added bread products to the major Australian supermarket retail chains in addition to National Pizza chains.
The Role:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of quality and food safety requirements at Bakery Fresh for the afternoon shift.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitor production to ensure key quality and food safety product parameters are being met
- Ensure product sampling and environmental testing programs are maintained
- Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and corrective actions. Provide technical advice as required to assist in the improvement process
- Assist in the completion of calibration and verification activities in the production facility
- Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits as required
- Review and sign off quality records for completion and accuracy
- Train employees on quality, food safety and hygiene requirements
We anticipate that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Degree qualifications in food science/technology;
- An uncompromising approach to safety;
- Pro-active personality with a 'can do' attitude;
- High attention to detail;
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Food industry experience;
- Excellent communication skills
- 1-2 years’ experience within the food manufacturing industry, preferably bakery, with short to medium shelf-life products
- Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF and BRC standards
- Internal auditor qualifications (desired)
