G4S Custodial Services Pty Ltd operates the Prisoner Transport contract on behalf of the Department of Justice Victoria. Our team are responsible for the safe and humane collection and transportation of prisoners in and around Victoria.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Fleet Dispatcher / Controller to join the team based at the Laverton depot.
Reporting into the General Manager, key duties and responsibilities of the role include;
- Discharge a duty of care whilst ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of vehicles and staff in accordance with contractual requirements;
- Ensure legislative and contractual performance levels and standards are met;
- Liaise with agency representatives to maximize PTS effectiveness and efficiency and
- Maintain functional control of the prisoner transport service whilst on duty.
- Ensure that all prisoner movement information received is correctly recorded and acted upon;
- Schedule and control movement of prisoners between call points in an efficient and timely manner;
- Ensure cost effective delivery of services;
- Determine the vehicle type and capacity for every transport order
Ideally, you would possess the following skills, experience and qualifications;
- Previous demonstrated experience as a fleet dispatcher / controller within the transport industry
- Extensive experience and knowledge of effective scheduling, vehicle routing and staff deployment
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work with and adapt to people from all different backgrounds
- Extensive Computer Literacy
- Experience and understanding of the principles of people management inclusive of team and performance management.
- Current Full Victorian Drivers Licence
- Knowledge and practise of OH & S Standards in a similar environment and Fatigue Management in reference to the Chain of responsibilities in the Transport Industry.
