Our recently expanded Stanhope site is known for producing a range of cheeses for the Australian and export markets, among them award-winning Perfect Italiano cheeses, Parmesan, Pecorino, Romano, Gouda and Mozzarella cheeses. Stanhope also produces Ricotta, ghee, anhydrous milk fat, whey powders and milk powders for markets around the world.

Your impact:
Integrated Work Systems is a proven approach to help the manufacturing industry achieve breakthrough improvements in return on invested capital, available cash flow and OPEX through a rigorous focus on OEE and loss elimination at the production line level.

Reporting to the Site Manager you will play a key role in the delivery of the successful deployment of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) across the processing plants at Stanhope.

Drawing on your experience of continuous improvement and world class manufacturing, you will facilitate training with operators, work with the technical and maintenance teams around process improvements, deliver projects and work with the site leadership team to further develop the site IWS strategy and drive change. You will provide input for improvements around site systems, auditing the health of existing systems and effectiveness of meetings to ensure they deliver value. As a part of our global Velocity program, you make sure the tracking system is up to date and ensure there is a pipeline of new initiatives. Working collaboratively with your IWS colleagues across the country, you will also contribute to the development of Global Fonterra IWS best practices through participation in projects with a national or global focus.

About you:
Ideally you will come with IWS methodology experience or with a vast experience of Continuous Improvement Practises across various industries. Your strong technical understanding of continuous improvement is essential for this role, pivotal to your success will be your ability to work at all levels across the site, engaging, leading, motivating and coaching at a floor level and driving a positive IWS culture across the sites utilising your strong influencing skills. The ability to develop and accelerate IWS practices and think strategically is also a key part of this role but most importantly will be your passion for the process line. You will spend most of your time working on the floor with shift teams and understanding the pressure they have on a day to day basis, assisting them to eliminate or improve losses.

We are also ideally looking for:

  • A tertiary qualification in business or technical discipline
  • Bring strong manufacturing knowledge gained in a production or quality management area
  • Have successfully bought a site on a continuous improvement journey
  • Prior leadership experience and an extensive track record of success in a business improvement capacity
  • Sound knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous improvement principles, processes, tools and methodologies
  • Proven excellence in mentoring and developing with a coaching mind-set
  • Be a strong communicator and have a proven ability to influence and motivate others
