Career Opportunity:

We're looking for a full time, highly motivated and experienced Workshop Supervisor to commence immediately.

Reporting directly to the Workshop Production Manager, this role requires someone with experience in a Workshop Supervisory role with a minimum of 20 people.

Duties of this position include:

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the workshop and occasionally onsite.
  • Complete work plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities and monitoring progress – including fabrication, welding and dispatch.
  • Chair daily tool box meetings.
  • Ensure completion of all project related documentation.
  • Provide technical advice on design standards and recommend modifications.
  • Identify and resolve any technical issues.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise workers and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Source and purchase materials from approved suppliers.
  • Ensure items are fabricated/manufactured in accordance with client requirements, drawings, specifications and procedures set by the company.
  • Ensure all materials have been issued and meet specifications.
  • Conduct tasks effectively and safely in accordance with company QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Measure project costs, efficiencies and quality of deliverables as directed by company management.
  • Ensure all fabrication works adheres to regulation and requirements.
  • Conduct employee performance development review appraisals providing constructive feedback and analysing gaps for training development needs.

The ideal candidate will possess the following;

  • High level supervisory skills
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to work under minimal direction / supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills (proven ability to interact, develop and maintain a positive working relationship with personnel on all levels, both within and external to the company)
  • Strong personal attributes, including resilience, initiative, judgement and self-confidence
  • Proven capabilities in leading and working with teams
  • Proven capabilities in complex problem solving
  • Work planning and scheduling
  • Operate in a safe manner hand tools
  • Light to medium welding and fabricating skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Training, mentoring and delegating

Only applicants who meet the minimum requirements below shall be considered for the next stage of the recruitment process:

  • Relevant Qualification / Trade Certificate (Mechanical, Fabrication, etc.)
  • "C" Class Drivers' License
  • 5+ years' experience in a Workshop Supervisory role 
  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety, with safe work practices in a workshop

You must also be available to undertake a pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol.
