Axiom has been in business for over 35 years and their capability covers high and low volume projects for the Aerospace, Defence, Medical and Electronic hardware industries.

The Role

We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Inspector with experience ideally gained from within the Defence, Aerospace or Medical sector. The role involves the following:

  • Inspection of incoming raw materials and in process inspection of parts
  • Final visual inspection of all parts and packaging of parts as required
  • Assisting in the preparation of necessary documentation for submission to the customer for product approval.
  • Ensuring all aspects of quality assurance and controls are implemented and maintained in the production area.
  • Ensuring that production processes adhere to the quality management system
  • Highlighting and escalating any quality issues to Management.
  • Liaising with workshop personnel on all quality issues
  • Assisting with internal auditing and report writing where required
  • Maintaining the production equipment calibration process.
  • Helping to drive continuous improvement through all processes.

Skills Required:

  • Attention to detail and the ability to interpret engineering, quality, specifications and standards documentation.
  • Sound mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literacy skills using office suite.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workloads
  • Strong, critical thinking and problem-solving management skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, RCA and/or Business Improvement
  • Any qualifications/experience in WHS (performing risk assessments) will be look upon favourably
