Purchasing/Admin Coordinator

The Company

With our factory/warehouse located in Moorebank in Sydney's south west, ThinkingWorks is one of Australia's leading manufacturers of office furniture products marketed to the architectural and interior design industry, and sold through Australia's leading office furniture dealers. Established in 1984 as the first Australian manufacturer of height adjustable desks, ThinkingWorks has become known for designing innovative furniture products, with several products recognised with international design awards. To facilitate continuous & sustainable growth, ThinkingWorks has recently relocated to Moorebank with state-of-the art office/amenities & more productive factory & warehouse layouts.

The Position

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager we require an experienced Purchasing/Admin Coordinator to coordinate & maintain all local purchasing for our Moorebank located warehouse.

Duties will include:

  • Raise Purchase orders with local vendors, confirming availability and lead time, from internal requisitions.
  • Daily follow up of critical items with vendors.
  • Attend weekly production meetings and advise on delivery dates for production requirements.
  • Control and maintain Kan Ban replenishment for consumables.
  • Ensure product quality on goods purchased is to standards and specifications.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and open lines of communication with our vendors.
  • Liaise with internal staff including production, warehouse, design, sales, customer service and accounts etc.
  • Maintain active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on order and stock requirements.
  • Goods receipt into system.
  • Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies.
  • Liaise with sales and production teams on specifications for worktops and powder coat requirements.
  • All related administration related to purchase orders, inventory records and work order maintenance.

 

Key to success in this busy and fast paced role, is to be thorough and energetic by nature, extremely well organised and have the ability to multi task. The successful applicant will perform well under pressure. We need a team player who can also work independently and set their own daily goals and priorities, to align with our production requirements. Experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is essential. Knowledge or experience with the powder coating process will be highly regarded.
