About the role

The position is part of the Divisional Operations leadership team and leads the Northern Operations region ensuring the safe, timely and profitable manufacture and delivery of all products in accordance with PACT policies and procedures, customer expectations (quality & DIFOT) and C&I’s future strategies.

Specifically the role is accountable for

  • Driving a step change improvement in line owner-ship and accountability of Health, Safety and Environment compliance and standards safety, Occupational Health and Safety compliance and standards, supported by the Health, Safety & Environment Strategy
  • Meeting and/or exceeding to overall standards and performance expectations of the operations within the region – safety, quality, service, reliability, inventory and profitability
  • Delivering budgeted P&L, including direct and indirect labour, material, period costs (overheads) and matching cost base in accordance with Revenue & EBITDA expectations; manage inventory levels to agreed targets and approved capital expenditure
  • Taking the lead in conjunction with the Sales & Finance teams to leverage suitable volume and innovation into the plants to increase profitability
  • Delivering step-change improvements in process activities such as LEAN/Six-Sigma in the form of agreed annual Profit Improvement Programmes (PIP’s)
  • Deliver change in product consistency through a rigorous Quality Assurance Program as per the Quality Assurance Strategy
  • Increasing workforce engagement and alignment behind the C&I Transformation and Continuous Improvement strategies and in particular, a continuous improvement mindset
  • Development of capability through coaching and development of teams

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Manufacturing experience at a senior leader level is a must
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or other related discipline
  • Able to develop and communicate clear vision of the future and relentlessly drive systemic change in a multi-site environment
  • Substantial experience as a Senior Manager in a matrix structured, process-driven operating environment and ability to ‘cut through’ the organisational challenges
  • Highly developed skills in leadership, communication (written & verbal), negotiation, collaboration, influencing and execution; able to deliver ‘one-way of doing things’ in a change resistant culture
  • High degree of analytical and numeracy skill proven in the workplace with ability to assimilate new situations quickly and accurately
  • Superior coaching and mentoring skills and a proven record of identifying/developing talent
  • Highly developed Learning Orientation – ‘Curiosity’
